As soon as I saw her walking down the street, I fell in love with her skort! This outfit pretty much describes what most summer outfits should require- black and bright patterns! I love how she’s kept the rest of the outfit toned down with black in order for the skort to stand out. With it’s bright patterned print, it’s best to avoid over accessorising which is exactly what she’s done!
I adore the cut of the skort as I haven’t seen one where the outer skirt layer is long whilst the inside short remains…well, short! She told us that the skort is from her own boutique down Shoreditch high street (unfortunately we didn’t get the name) however, check out the boutiques along the high street as you will find many great vintage pieces like this.
The way she’s posing almost reminds me of the famous Angelina Jolie leg pose.
Now, our street styles won’t always include people dressed pretty much head to toe in black but whenever I see someone wearing all black and its been styled well I get really excited! This girl caught my eye as she was walking through Brick lane and we ran after her to get a picture. If myself and Lola see you on the street and we like your choice of outfit/style we will do anything it takes to try and get a picture, only with permission of course. I love this girls choice of accessories with the oversized sunglasses and statement clutch bag. The platform sandals are from Zara and I really like the gold detailing on them, it makes the outfit pop. The long black chiffon kimono looks stunning in contrast with the black rolled up skinny jeans and black oversized tee. I think even the way she has chosen to wear red lipstick just completes the whole look, LOVE THIS OUTFIT.
As I just recently done a post on ‘ways to wear black this summer’ this street style immediately caught my eye. I love everything about the whole look, everything is so classy. I love the way she has decided to do a fish tail braid in her hair which is slightly messy and contrasts with the clean, classy look. The oversized boxy bag from Zara looks great alongside this dress from ASOS. The boots are also from Zara and give a very ‘made in chelsea’ look to the outfit. This outfit is a perfect example of one I would wear myself as I love to keep everything simple and this outfit also proves there are many ways to wear black in summer.
Outside the Condé Nast Publications building, I spotted this young man. His outfit immediately amazed me! And it wasn’t just me that was fascinated by his unique style, everyone else was also turning heads to see his outfit.
His choice of bold patterns is on point with this seasons trend. It’s both summery, as well as leading onto upcoming autumn/winter colours- blues and greys.
It also turns out that he follows our blog and after reading our article on matching pieces, he decided to pull it off himself. It’s usually women who decide to go for matching sets, but this is proof that men, you can do it too!
His baby blue New Balances are like the icing on the cake as they brighten up the whole outfit.
Side note- with those sunnies, I think he could pass as a Robert Pattinson lookalike.
I love that this girl is wearing all black except for the pleated skirt. The day we took this picture it was scorching outside so her choice of clothing here confirms that it is possible to wear black throughout summer. I love that she has chosen to wear mesh socks with sandals, which is very on trend as you may have read about in mine and Lola’s previous trending tuesdays/throwback thursday posts.
The backpack which she is wearing on one arm and the black sunglasses keeps the outfit looking cute and gives the whole look a ‘st trinians’ vibe, whenever I see girls wearing pleated skirts I just think of being back in school and having to wear a uniform, however I’m not complaining and I think look great on!
When I saw that this guy was wearing Adidas trainers I knew we had to get a picture. His outfit is really casual, sporting a simple black tee and tan shorts, but what really caught my attention was what he was wearing on his feet. When Adidas released their collaboration collection with Stan Smith, fashion bloggers around the world went crazy for these babies. I instantly recognised them and had to compliment them, I myself have a pair of Adidas superstar trainers as I felt these were more me however I think the Stan Smith ones look great on guys and I’ve seen some bloggers wear them really well. Kanye West was also recently spotted wearing these exact trainers and that says something because Kanye knows what he is talking about when it comes to fashion. Not only that but Kanye is collaborating with Adidas and I’m very intrigued as to what the collection will be like. He’s definitely playing it cool with the black shades and his bag is the perfect accessory alongside his casual outfit for some shopping in Shoreditch.
What do you think of this outfit?
Ok I ran to take a picture of this guy! He stood out because on a sunny day, he was the only person dressed head to toe in black. I adore his Giuseppe Zanotti high tops. The gold buckle strap makes the outfit stand out. The use of leather and layering livens up the outfit and proves that you can do simple layering in the Spring/Summer as well. I’ve said this before, tattoos are becoming accessories for men but he’s also added rings and a silver chain to brush off his look. Not a huge fan of the sunglasses but it does add a summery touch. He’s holding a black book which also matches his outfit but I only just realised that it has a modelling agency written on it. Maybe he was on his way to a casting when we stopped him? Keep an eye out and let us know if you see photos of him anywhere!
